Watch out kitty, here comes Preston!

Preston has been busy perfecting his crawling, and now he can move pretty fast anywhere he wants. Yesterday he was chasing the cat - she was kind of asking for it anyway - she likes to tease him and walk near so she sees her, then she walks quickly away (not running), and Preston goes after her. She kept going around the lounge, and Preston followed where she went! But she knows she is quicker than he is, so in an emergency she could escape without much effort.

He talks to cats. When he sees a cat he says 'KKKTHSSSSSSSSSTTTTHKKK' and it's the only time he makes that sound. We had coffee group at someone's house the other day and they had a super-friendly cat who loved attention, so it sat down right in front of Preston so he could pat it. He got a bit too friendly though, and ended up with a mouth full of tail!!

The other thing Preston has mastered is clapping! It's really cute - he claps his hands when I come to get him from his cot, and when he's excited, and even sometimes when he's crying. And he loves when we clap our hands too.

We're onto 3 meals of pureed foods a day now. Mmmmm....

Also, at our last swimming class (the 10th one) he FINALLY got the hang of being in the water and loved it! Normally he just whimpers the whole time and screams when he gets dunked, but at last he has his confidence and had a great time. He even started paddling, and the teacher (who is quite sympathetic to Preston) noticed and said 'right everyone, Preston wants to do paddling, and even though its a stage 2 activity lets all do it!'. So that was nice. We've got two weeks off for school holidays so when we go back next week I hope he still remembers he likes swimming.

Hi Belinda!
I found your blog when I was 8 months pregnant and you were about to have Preston, and I've followed you ever since. He's a cute boy!

Thanks loads for the cardigan link, I'll see if I can find time to get one made.
Keep up the good work!
